Currently, the circulation of non-influenza respiratory viruses (parainfluenza viruses, adenoviruses, rhinoviruses, respiratory syncytial viruses, bocaviruses, seasonal coronaviruses, metapneumoviruses) is being recorded in the Republic of Belarus. The epidemiological situation regarding acute respiratory infections (ARIs) is stable, controlled, and typical for this time of year.
According to experts’ forecasts, the simultaneous circulation of non-influenza respiratory viruses, influenza viruses, and SARS-CoV-2 is expected during the current 2026–2027 season.
Patients at high risk of contracting the disease, experiencing severe illness, or suffering adverse outcomes from influenza are offered vaccination with a drug from the centralized republican procurement (“Grippol Plus,” manufactured in the Russian Federation).
Individuals for whom it is especially important to get vaccinated against influenza this season:
- children aged 6 months to 3 years;
- children over 3 years old and adults with chronic diseases and immunodeficiency states;
- persons aged 65 and older;
- pregnant women;
- medical and pharmaceutical workers;
- children and adults staying in facilities with 24-hour residential care;
- government employees who ensure state security and vital public services.
Traditionally, the public will have the opportunity to protect themselves and their loved ones from influenza by getting vaccinated at their own expense.
The “Convacell” vaccine (manufactured in the Russian Federation) will be available for vaccination against the COVID-19 infection.
Individuals for whom it is advisable to get vaccinated against the COVID-19 infection:
- adults with immunosuppression (immunodeficiencies, including HIV infection, autoimmune diseases, oncological and oncohematological diseases);
- persons aged 60 and older;
- adults living and working in facilities with 24-hour residential care.
The most crucial goal of vaccination against influenza and the COVID-19 infection is to prevent the development of severe cases of these diseases and unfavorable outcomes. To build full immune protection, it is most advisable to get vaccinated before the active circulation of viruses begins and the incidence of influenza and COVID-19 infections rises.
No special preparation is required for the vaccination. It is important that on the day of vaccination, there is no acute illness or exacerbation of a chronic condition. A mandatory doctor’s examination is performed before the procedure.
