Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are a group of infections that are transmitted mainly through sexual contact and are caused by viruses, bacteria, and fungi.

Currently, more than 30 such diseases are known and they are very widespread throughout the world. Some of the STIs can be contracted not only through sexual contact, but also through blood, for example, HIV, syphilis. Most STIs are asymptomatic or have minor symptoms, as a result of which the STI may remain undetected.

Prevention of STIs largely depends on internal moral attitudes towards safe sexual behavior, orientation towards a later start of sexual life, refusal of premarital and extramarital intimate relations, exclusion of casual sexual relations, regular sexual partner, use of condoms.

At the first signs of STIs, casual sexual contact with a dubious partner, do not self-medicate. Immediately consult a doctor for examination and treatment. If you do not consult a doctor in a timely manner, this can lead to serious complications and long-term consequences.

Remember, each of you is responsible not only for your life and health, but also for the life and health of a loved one!
