Prevention of drug addiction
The problem of drug addiction has reached epidemic proportions and is one of the most pressing, both for health care and for society as a whole. It is spreading much faster than measures are being taken to combat this terrible phenomenon. Therefore, prevention of drug addiction is of great importance in modern society.
All narcotic substances of natural or synthetic origin are poison that intoxicate the human body. All human systems and organs are subject to the destructive influence of drugs. Drugs also affect the psycho-emotional sphere. In this case, personality changes manifest themselves quite quickly and clearly.
The most noticeable personality changes include:
- deformation of priorities – the addict ceases to be interested in anything except the opportunity to get another dose;
- difficulties with self-analysis – the patient cannot justify some of his actions, sees the problem not in himself, but in others who refuse to understand and accept him;
- a decrease in the level of social responsibility – drug addicts are often caught in crimes and actions that they would not have committed before;
- lack of motivation – lack of interest in work, acquiring new skills, self-development.
Drug addiction, like alcoholism, is not a personal matter of an individual. Due to drug addiction, addicts have a very high risk of contracting AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, hepatitis, and an equally high risk of spreading them.
The most accessible way to combat addiction is to prevent drug addiction and substance abuse among children and adolescents. After all, they are the ones who most often become victims of these harmful addictions.
Moms and dads! If possible, try to talk to your children more often about a variety of topics, especially those that are of greatest interest to them at the moment. Whatever you talk about with your children, try to unobtrusively give them at least one piece of advice in the area of personal safety. Especially convincing are reports of severe poisoning, injuries, and deaths from drug overdoses. Be true friends to your children and help them make the right decision!
